Lt. Oscar & Lt. Alexandra “Alex” Ozuna

For Lt. Oscar and Lt. Alexandra “Alex” Ozuna, serving others is more than a career—it is a calling shaped by faith, compassion, and a desire to make a difference.

Their journey began in 2014 in Los Angeles, where Oscar served as a case manager with The Salvation Army and Alex as a program director. They also served as youth pastors, mentoring teenagers through faith and hope.

As their passion for ministry grew, Oscar and Alex felt called to full-time ministry with The Salvation Army. In 2023, they graduated from the College for Officer Training in Chicago and were commissioned, receiving their first appointment in Fremont, Nebraska.

Since arriving in Fremont, they have worked to create a welcoming place where everyone feels respected and valued. They have built relationships throughout the community, supporting Hispanic and Latino families through bilingual support and advocacy.

Under their leadership, The Salvation Army provides the Hygiene Pantry, rental and utility assistance, case management, after-school programming, seasonal assistance, and school-supply outreach. These programs offer support while protecting the dignity of every person served.

For Oscar and Alex, ministry is about more than resources. It is about building relationships, creating belonging, and listening to community.

Their mission is to serve with compassion, strengthen families, empower the next generation, and advocate for those whose voices may go unheard. They strive to remind every person they encounter that they are loved by Jesus Christ and valued.
